Kirk RexroatHi folks. I was born and raised in the fine state of Wyoming and, like our weather, the styles and designs of my knives are always changing. I make a wide variety of knives -- from small gentleman folders to tactical knives and large bowies.

I believe a knife must feel good in your hand and hold an edge well. These two principles are paramount to any knife. I don't like to be confined to one style of knife, and so I have incorporated these two attributes into all the knives I make.

I was really pleased to be put on Blade's coverI enjoy the challenge of designing knives; this has led me to work with the Oregon based company Al Mar Knives. I have worked with them designing and making prototypes. One you might be familiar with is the Havana Clipper. Seeing the factory side of the knife industry has been a great learning experience for me.

I began my knifemaking career in 1980 after watching a friend make a knife for his dad. I began making stock removal knives then in 1991 I began forging and it has become my passion.

I am a member of the American Bladesmith Society and I received my Journeyman stamp in 1997 and my Mastersmith stamp in 1999.

My strongest points as a knife maker include the large variety of knife styles that I make, the clean lines, and the excellent fit and finish.
