Description: D'Alton is one of the great masters of collectable hunting knives. As you would expect, the fit and finish is exceptional. This hunter is a beautiful example of Holder's work! This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made, and by all appearances it is in brand new condition! At some point, the original sheath had been lost so we asked D'Holder to make a replacement sheath for it.
The mirror polished, drop point blade is made from ATS-34 stainless steel. ATS-34 maintains great edge holding but is easy to sharp and has a high corrosion resistance. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. D'holder's Phoenix, AZ mark is featured on the right side of the blade. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort.
The contoured handle is made from stabilized maple burl set on the full tang using five pins. Both the blade and tang are distal tapered providing perfect balance. The scales are fit seamlessly to S sharped bolsters. The bolsters have been hand engraved by Pat Holder. The engraving provies a steadfast grip that is also aesthetically pleasing.
To keep the knife close at hand, a basketweave tooled leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
