Description: Bob Lay creates a spectacular knife. His designs are well thought out and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. Bob's Moose Hunter is a rare model from him. This large knife is one you won't want to let get away.
The blade is made from premium CPM154 stainless steel that has been heat treated to Rc 59 for optimal edge retention and durability. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it! By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife that emphasizes the precision of his work. A large choil makes it easy to choke up on the blade for more detailed tasks.
The handle combines moose anter with a green dyed and stabilized box elder burl spacer. These are durable materials that will hold up to hard use and last a lifetime. The contoured handle is extremely comfortable and well balanced. Stainless steel and black fiber spacers assist the handle adjust to humidity and temperature changed. The handle is finished with a 416 stainless steel guard and end cap.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand stiched leather sheath is included. The knife is also accompanied by a zipper pouch and certificate from the maker.
Excellent work throughout!
