Description: South African knifemaker Anton van der Westhuizen is from Port Elizabeth. He is an active member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa. Lately he has been creating high end, elegant folding knives using only the best materials available. We were excited when he asked if we could feature some of his work at BladeGallery while we were visiting at the 2019 annual Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa Show. Siince then, each new set of knives shows innovation and tremendous skill.
This Interframe folder was made by Anton in 2016. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The drop point blade was hand ground from stainless damascus forged by Damasteel in Sweden. The blade can easily be opened by pinching the blade at the spine.
The frame is formed from 14C28N stainless steel and features presentation grade whitelip mother of pearl inlays. Both the frame and the inlays are meticulously engraved in floral scroll.
The knife is accompanied by a custom built imbuia wood presentation case (also made by Anton).
Exceptional work throughout!
