Description: Mastersmith Henry Torres makes an exceptional high performing hunter! He had the opportunity to work under renowned Mastersmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same technique -- creating a differentially heat treated blade with a hard edge and softer, supportive spine. The result is exceptional.
This drop point hunter has been in a private collection. It was made while Henry Torres was a journeyman smith. It has been meticulously cared for and by all appearances, Torres could have made it yesterday.
The drop point blade was hand forged from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance found anywhere. It was hand satin finished for an heirloom quality.
A satin finished 416 stainless steel guard and pommel surround the premium stag handle. Black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Presentation grade redwood handles are nicely contoured for a sure, comfortable grip.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched pouch style leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
