Description: This exceptional Raptor Fighter was made by Argentinian brothers Claudio, Ariel, and Marcelo Sobral. This fighter is a hallmark of their work, from the intricate san mai blade, to the oversized harpoon tip and recurve cutting edge. This large fighter is sure to impress anyone who picks it up!
The blade was hand forged from 1095 carbon steel surrounded by 420 stainless steel. This technique, known as san mai (three layers) provides the performance of 1095 carbon steel, with the lower care of stainless steel sides. The transition between the hard center core and the softer sides is particularly dramatic, with a transition line similar to a hamon in appearance. A fuller runs almost the entire length of the blade to reduce weight and adds to the blade's exceptional look.
The handle is contoured from Arizona desert ironwood and stag, secured using a hand domed pin. Alternating Micarta and stainless steel spacers surround the central ironwood column. This is among the most comfortable handles you will ever feel. It is fit perfectly to a 420 stainless steel guard. The knife has exceptional balance and feels great in the hand.
To protect the knife during storage and transportation, a leather sheath made by Marcelo Sobral is included. A zipper pouch with the CAS knives logo is included for storage.
Excellent work throughout!
