Description: Bob Merz has been making knives since the early 1970s and has been a member of the Knifemaker's Guild for over 20 years. He focuses on creating high performance knives that will exceed expectations. He guarantees his knives against failure due to workmanship or materials.
This Midlock Folder with African Blackwood shows Merz' high precision work. The blade is hand ground CTS-XHP stainless steel. This US-made steel is an air hardening, high carbon, high chromium, corrosion resistant alloy. The grinds are satin finished while the flats are mirror polished, showing off the crisp, clean grinds. The blade is flat ground and features a hand rubbed satin finish. The blade can be easily opened using the left-side nail nick.
African blackwood handle scales meet perfectly with 416 stainless steel bolsters. African Blackwood is among the most dense, durable woods available in the world and is highly prized for its jet black appearances. Stainless liners are satin finished. The slim handle feels great and makes this knife easy to carry.
Nice work throughout!
