Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This bird and trout knife is hand ground Bohler N690 stainless steel. N690 takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The blade is polished in the flats and satin finished in the grinds. The spine is rounded for a comfortable grip.
Dyed and stabilzed birdseye maple handle scales are set on the full tang using stainless steel pins. The knife is very lightweight (just 2 oz!) and comfortable to hold, making it perfect for a daily carry fixed blade. From caping fowl and fish to use as an EDC, this bird & trout knife will be a tremendous piece out in the field.
A leather pouch style sheath is included to keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
