Description: Swedish bladesmith Michael Andersson is a force to be reckoned with. Unlike many Nordic knifemakers, Micke believes very strongly in sole authorship, from forging the blade to shape, to creating the damascus, to sewing the sheath. His style is immediately identifiable and is very dramatic.
The 4-1/2 inch blade is forged to shape from Micke's own multi-bar damascus. He combined a bar of twist damascus, a linear nickel stripe, and a firecracker pattern edge. The damascus is forged from Uddeholm 15N20 and 20C carbon steels for exceptional edge holding. Micke's touchmark is on the right ricasso.
The handle is dyed and stabilized maple burl, secured with a large mosaic pin. The contoured handle fills your hand and provides a comfortable grip. Both the front and rear bolsters are matching twist pattern damascus. Fluted and polished stainless steel spacers finish the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a single seam Nordic style tooled leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
