Description: Mastersmith David Lisch is well known for his bowies and kitchen knives, but before all that he was a blacksmith. Occasionally he puts his mind to creating wonderful knives that speak to his traditional blacksmith heritage. This blacksmith knife was a collaboration with David's good friend Darryl Nelson from Eatonville, Washington. Lisch forged the damascus blade and twisted the handle. Darryl carved the wolf head.
The damascus blade was hand forged by Lisch from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steel, ensuring excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging and shows lots of movement in the steel. The damascus blade is welded to a mild steel bar twisted by Lisch. The butt of the handle is forged to shape and hand carved into a wolf by Darryl Nelson.
This knife feels exceptional in hand and has a tremendious presence.
