Description: Jim Luman's knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years, yet are dramatic enough for any collection.
The 5 1/2 inch blade was forged from a Damascus pattern that James calls Predator. The Damascus mixes bold patterns that are apparent from a distance that are reminiscent of a large animal's natural camouflage.
The maple burl handle has been stabilized so as to easily hold up to the rigorous demands of hunting. Jet black spalting lines travel across the tan background. The spalting lines nicely reflect the Predator pattern Damascus -- continuing the theme. The guard and pommel are formed from Stripe pattern Damascus forged from 1084 and L6 carbon steels along with chain saw blade. A Damascus ferrule is formed from Tiger Stripe pattern Damascus (1084 and L6 carbon steels) and creates a dramatic accent. The fit and finish is excellent. Numbered 127.
