Description: Mike Mann is a household name in re-enactment circles. His hand forged custom knives are created in his remote log home in the mountains of North Idaho.
Explorer George Washington Sears, who was born in 1821, lived with Nipmuc Indians and learned skills of wilderness living. He is best known for his writings under the pen name of "Nessmuk", which dated from 1880 - 1890. During this time, he developed the knife pattern which would later bear his name. This pattern is believed by many woodsman to be the perfect knife, even today. The deep belly allows it to be an excellent skinning knife, with the weight brought toward the tip.
The 5160 carbon steel blade was forged to shape and flat ground for a long lasting edge. Stabilized giraffe bone scales have two brass pins which bring warmth to the handle. The thick tang brings the weigh back into the handle for a sure grip. Nice work throughout.
