Description: Jim's knives are as sturdy as they are elegant. A hunter himself, as well as a backwoodsman, his knives have been heavily tested in the field over the years yet are dramatic enough for any collection.
The long, recurve blade is forged from a Damascus pattern that James calls Diamond Castle Loop. The Damascus mixes bold ribbons that travel across a highly detailed background. The tremendous complexity of the high layer count damascus only becomes clear with a close inspection.
The box elder burl handle has been stabilized and double dyed. The swirling grain pattern is extremely dramatic. Black fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The front section of the handle is formed from many small mosaics of box elder set together with nickel silver, brass, and copper spacers. The handle is nicely sculpted to provide a sure, comfortable grip. The fit and finish is excellent. Numbered 138.
