Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened single handed with the thumbstud. The drop point 19C27 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. The steel, which is in the same family as 12C27, is tremendously wear resistant and takes on an incredibly, keen, long lasting edge. It is one of those rare steels that has exceptional edge holding and can be easily stropped from sort-of dull to scary sharp.
304 stainless steel bolsters are textured and engraved into knotwork, providing an attractive, secure thumb rest. Blue anodized titanium liners surround a 19C27 stainless steel back spacer. The scales are desert and have a nice mix of light and dark tones. Exceptional work throughout.
