Description: Mike Mann is a household name in re-enactment and black powder circles. His hand forged custom knives are created in his remote log home in the mountains of North Idaho.
Explorer George Washington Sears, who was born in 1821, lived with Nipmuc Indians and learned skills of wilderness living. He is best known for his writings under the pen name of "Nessmuk", which dated from 1880 - 1890. During this time, he developed the knife pattern which would later bear his name. This pattern is believed by many woodsman to be the perfect knife, even today. The deep belly allows it to be an excellent skinning knife, with the weight brought toward the tip.
The 5160 carbon steel blade was forged to shape and flat ground for a long lasting edge. Oregon walnut scales are set with two brass pins. The thick tang brings the weight back into the handle for a sure grip. Nice work throughout.
