Description: Blacksmith, Frederick Weisenborn brings his years of experience to creating this dramatic and unique mokume gane pen. The pen, which weighs just under 3 oz., has a solid, comfortable feel, making it a writing instrument you'll be sure to reach for often. The exquisite damascene non-ferrous mokume gane pattern holds attention.
The pen and cap barrel are formed from mokume gane forged from red bronze, brass, and nickel by renowned jeweler and blacksmith Phil Baldwin. Delbert Ealy's Lion pattern damascus is used for the clip and Chris Marks' Honeycomb pattern forms the accessory ends, which are sandblasted and heat blued. The barrels are hand engraved and sandblasted. A high gloss clear coat is applied for durability and protects the steel and mokume from finger prints. Custom designed titanium accessories complete the pen. Weisenborn created interchangeable rollerball and fountain tips. He used a Bach steel nib (type 180) for the fountain tip with an ink cartridge and a refillable cartridge. When not used as a fountain pen, it uses a Schmidt ceramic roller ball.
This pen is accompanied by a handcrafted box made by Steve Palmer from pure maple. It is perfect for storage or display.
Exceptional work throughout!
