Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The clip point N690 stainless steel blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The scales combine elegant Rosewood and black carbon G10 in a finely fitted inlay. Rather than using two separate pieces end-butted together, Andre created the scales from G10, milled out the section for the rosewood, and inlaid it, resulting in a very strong construction! The handle is completed with blue anodized titanium liners. Red fiber spacers assist the wood to adjust to changes in temperature and humidity. The titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
