Description: This exceptional hunter was made by bladesmith Fred Ott of Durango, Colorado. Fred creates dramatic knives that embody his out-of-the-box thinking.
Fred created the bold, high contrast twist damascus by forging together 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. The swirling pattern evokes a fluid movement born from a fiery beginning. It immediately grabs attention from a distance and holds it upon closer examination. The blade has been shaped with a distal taper for optimal balance.
Fred used spalted Scottish beechwood as the backbone for a very unique handle. The spalting results in dramatic black veins in the wood that are handsomely accentuated by both the buffalo horn spacer and the ebony pin. The handle is shaped to swell gently at the pommel, ensuring a secure and comfortable grip. A bronze guard completes the knife. Accompanied by a hand tooled leather sheath.
An amazing addition to any collection or a prized knife for the outdoorsman that wants something unique.
