Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under renowned Mastersmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the same techniques -- creating exceptional edge retention.
The blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel has the highest performance found anywhere. It is completed by an heirloom quality hand rubbed satin finish and an appleseed grind. A differential heat treatment is visible in the satin finished steel. This results in a keen, long lasting edge with a softer, supportive spine.
California buckeye burl scales sit on a full tang to ensure a well balanced, comfortable fit in the hand. Brass in the mosaic pins highlights warm tones of the burl. The handle is completed with a brass lanyard tube.
A hand stitched custom leather sheath accompanies this knife. A perfect addition for the avid outdoorsman, while being equally at home in any collection.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
