Description: This exceptional folding knife by Andre Thorburn features a N690 stainless blade. It is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge, with jimping on the spine to ensure a secure thumb purchase.
Carbon fiber scales sit atop red fiber liners, and butt up against stainless steel bolsters. The bolsters were meticulously hand engraved by Julien Marchal. Belgium-born artist Julien Marchal studied engraving and gun making at Léon Mignon Liège in Belgium. Hand fileworked, blue anodized titanium liners keep this larger, sturdy knife light and fast. A blue anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
The blade is perfectly centered and has an incredibly smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with virtually no blade play. A flipper protrudes from the end and allows easy and quick opening.
Exceptional fit throughout.
