Description: Mastersmith Bill Burke created this exceptional utility knife with the idea of creating a perfect every day carry knife. The san mai blade has a core of 52100 carbon steel blade, and was triple quenched and triple tempered for grain refinement and optimal edge holding. Many makers and collectors feel that 52100 is among the best steels available for knifemaking. The carbon steel core is surrounded by layers of 416 stainless steel, making the knife much easier to maintain. The transition between stainless steel and carbon steel is particularly dramatic.
The carbon fiber handle is nicely rounded for a sure, comfortable grip. Bill used lightning strike carbon fiber for this EDC. Copper strands are interwoven throughout the carbon fiber weave. This type of carbon fiber was originally designed for use on fighter jets to redirect electricity. Lightning strike carbon fiber is among the hardest to find knifemaking materials.
The sturdy Kydex belt sheath is sure to keep this knife at the ready when not on display. A Tek-Lok allows for easy belt carry. Paracord allows the knife to be used as a neck knife. An excellent knife from Bill Burke that is a unique digression from his norm, and truly a hard to find, superior little performer!
