Description: This exceptional folding knife by Andre Thorburn features a N690 stainless blade. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge, with jimping on the spine to ensure a secure thumb purchase.
The scales are formed from rare silver strike carbon fiber. This variation of lightning strike carbon fiber uses silver toned wire rather than copper. The scales sit atop red fiber liners, and butt up against engraved zirconium bolsters. Zirconium is similar to some extent to titanium and has tremendous corrosion resistance. The engraved bolsters set off the silver strike carbon fiber perfectly! Hand fileworked, blue anodized titanium liners keep this larger, sturdy knife light and fast. A blue anodized titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
The blade is perfectly centered and has an incredibly smooth action due to the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with virtually no blade play. A flipper allows easy and quick opening.
Exceptional fit throughout.
