Description: I was very excited when Mastersmith Haley DesRosiers introduced me to her young friend Vanessa Johnston. Vanessa is a family friend of Haley's that lives in eastern Washington. She went to Alaska to work under Haley and Adam DesRosiers and the efforts clearly paid off.
The high performance blade on this clip point hunter was forged to shape from 5160 carbon steel. It is distal tapered for a perfect balance. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality.
The handle is sculpted from pau ferro wood. Pau ferro wood is found in Brazil and Bolivia where it prefers the drier areas of the forest. This type of wood is a tight grained hardwood that has a similar feel to rosewood, but is harder and slightly lighter in color. A black fiber spacer assists the natural wood to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
This knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand sewn brown leather sheath.
