Description: Master Smith Henry Torres had the opportunity to work under Mastersmith Bill Burke in the spring of 2006. This allowed him to best understand Bill's techniques of heat treating and implementation, which result in a level of edge holding rarely found elsewhere. Henry heat treated this blade using the techniques he learned from Bill -- creating truly exceptionally keen, long lasting edge.
The drop point blade was forged to shape from 52100 carbon steel -- a steel that many knifemakers and collectors feel to have the highest performance of any steel, anywhere. The blade is hand satin finished. A differential heat treatment line is clearly visible in the blade.
A 416 stainless guard, also satin finished, meets perfectly to the sculpted sheep horn handle. The natural texture of the sheep horn provides a sure, comfortable grip. This, combined with the distal taper and the way the handle comfortably fills the palm, means a capable knife that is built for hard work. Black G-10 spacers surround a fileworked copper spacer and assist the knife to adjust to temperature and humidity changes.
The knife is accompanied by a pouch style leather sheath.
Excellent fit and finish throughout.
