Description: Captain Koyama's designs are truly innovative. He designs and develops his knives with unique locking mechanisms that immediately capture the imagination. This one features an opening mechanism controlled by the push button. The blade is easily opened using the file worked titanium thumb stud. To close the blade, the button above the pivot is pressed. Koyama-san calls this mechanism a Pool-Lock.
The damascus blade is formed from Devin Thomas basketweave pattern damascus. Devin's steel is high contrast and hold a keen, long lasting edge.
Dyed and stabilized maple burl scales are set on anodized titanium liners. Stainless damascus bolsters nicely complement the swirling figure in the wood. A carbon fiber backbar keeps the knife light and durable. A heat colored titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-down carry.
Nice work throughout on a very creative knife!
