Description: Mastersmith David Lisch is well known for his highly controlled, high definition damascus. This all-steel blacksmith's Knife shows his skill at the forge.
David began by forging a bar of damascus from 15N20 and 1080 carbon steels. It is a nice mix of bold and fine patterns, such that it draws attention and continues to fascinate upon closer examination. His choice of steels, as well as his skillful heat treatment, ensures that this is not only a beautiful knife, but also a high performing tool.
The grinds reveal the detailed damascus pattern. The flats of the blade and handle are forge finished, with the spine and base of the handle again revealing the damascus pattern hidden within. The blade is nicely distal tapered for a perfect balance. The curled tail is formed into an exceptionally comfortable grip.
Excellent work throughout!
