Description: This is an exquisite slip joint folder by Mastersmith Aaron Wilburn.
Both blades are formed from CPM154 stainless steel. This powdered metallurgical stainless steel has particularly small crystalline structure, ensuring a keen, long lasting edge. A cryogenic heat treatment between tempering cycles ensures particularly good performance. The blades are meticulously hand satin finished. The action is smooth with a firm half stop. A long thumb nick makes it easy to open and close. The hollow ground blades will be easy to sharpen.
The fluted 410 stainless steel bolster meets perfectly with ancient mammoth ivory bark scales. Hand domed pins secure the scales to fileworked 410 stainless steel liners. The back spring is made from CPM154 stainless steel.
The primary blade measures 3-1/4 inches. The smaller blade measures 2-1/4 inches.
Excellent work throughout!
