Description: This integral NDN utility knife was forged by Ray Kirk of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, a Master Smith in the American Bladesmith Society and a Citizen of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. The NDN is a series of knives featuring integral bolsters hand forged from 52100 carbon steel.
The blade was forged to shape from a round bar. 52100 carbon steel ensures exceptional edge holding and durability. Many makers and knife users feel that 52100 is among the highest performing steels currently used for knives. Both the spine and choil are nicely rounded for comfort.
The handle is formed from stabilized spalted maple. It is nicely rounded for a secure, comfortable grip. The 'Coke bottle' style handle swells at the palm, moves into a slimmer waist and again swells at the back.
The handmade, high quality leather sheath was created by Mike Stott of Tahlequah, OK. The sheath has been designed to safely contain the blade until it is ready to use.
The blade is marked with Mastersmith Ray Kirk's mark - “RakeR” with “MS” directly below (for master smith). Every effort has been made by Mastersmith Ray Kirk to ensure excellence in this dramatic integral utility knife.
Exceptional work throughout!
