Description: Italian bladesmith Simone Raimondi began his journey into custom knives at the 2002 CIC show in Milan. By 2005 he had become a full time maker and in 2007 he received his master title (maestro della Corporazione) from the Corporazione Italiana Coltellinai). He is a voting member of the American Knifemakers Guild. He has received numerous awards for his work. As shown in this exquisite Nordic Legend, Raimondi is heavily influenced by Scandinavian knives.
The Nordic blade is a san mai construction. It was forged to shape by renowned Swedish knifemaker Andre Andersson. A 20C carbon steel core is surrounded by alternating layers of 15N20 and 20C carbon steels. The blade is heat treated to 59 Hrc.
The handle is formed from crosscut mammoth ivory with an Arizona desert ironwood spacer. A textured nickel silver guard seals the front of the handle. Pierced pure silver overlays were handmade by Denise Raimondi.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled traditional Swedish leather sheath.
