Description: Arno Bernard Sr. is a maker from South Africa and has been making knives for over 35 years. He has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) for over 20 years. Living in South Africa has allowed him the luxury of using many different exotic handle materials -- some even collected himself.
This Jackal utility knife is made from Bohler N690 with a hand rubbed satin finish. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade has been hollow ground to a thin high performance edge. The spine has been rounded for a comfortable grip.
The handle is made from stabilized giraffe bone set to the tang using six stainless steel pins. The tang is distal tapered to provide a perfect balance. The knife is lightweight and comfortable to hold making it perfect for a daily carry fixed blade.
A cape buffalo hide leather sheath has been included to keep the knife close at hand.
Excellent work throughout!
